ACCEPTANCE  REQUIREMENTS

 

PhD Degree

 

All accepted students in the PhD program will receive full tuition and a generous stipend covering living expenses, books and housing; Funding for research and travel are also available. 

 

Requirements for admission are:

1.      An average of at least 85 percent, or standardized equivalent from other institutions, in the major field of study;

2.      Subject GRE test score;

3.      IMPORTANT for students joining from outside AUB: Students from non-English-speaking countries must show proficiency in the English language (see the below table for the ELPR).

 

 

 

The program is designed to graduate well rounded, free-thinking individuals with inquisitive minds who are well prepared for further study in basic and applied research and are capable of pursuing professional careers in a variety of diverse fields.

Some of our graduates continue their education and pursue a masters or doctorate degree.

Other students work in a variety of fields such as biophysics, medical physics, engineering, or even business related fields.

Master’s Degree

 

Financial assistantship fully covering the tuition and a stipend are provided to those accepted in the graduate program.

 

Requirements for admission are:

 

1.     An undergraduate average of at least 80 percent, or standardized equivalent from other institutions of higher learning) in the major field of study and a cumulative average of at least 75 percent (or standardized equivalent) for all work done at the undergraduate level.

2.     Students from non-English-speaking countries must show proficiency in the English language (see the below table for the ELPR).

Applicants may be admitted with English language proficiency test scores lower than those listed in the table above. In such cases, the applicants will be required to take English language courses upon starting their graduate degree programs, as per the table below.
