The Department of Agriculture offers two undergraduate programs—in agriculture and agribusiness—as well as a graduate program with a number of specializations. The Agribusiness Program trains its students to devise optimal strategies of agro and food marketing while at the same time focusing on the fair-trade aspect of the production. Students are concurrently sensitized to minding the most crucial cost which are resources, encompassing land, water, and energy as poles of the renewable resources nexus. The aspect of health in the Water-Energy-Food (WEF) and resources nexus mark the unique trait of the program. The Agriculture Program trains future agricultural professionals to optimize crop production only after securing the requirements of sound policy in terms of water, energy, renewable resources, and health (WEFRAH). This means that the understanding of the social fabric along with environmental and ethical considerations, have the priority in informing the Program Educational Objectives, which are the drivers behind the research agenda and the Program Learning Outcomes (Student Outcomes) of the Department of Agriculture.
