Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program

​​About the Program

The American University of Beirut (AUB) offers full scholarships in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation.

 
The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at AUB aims to prepare young people to be agents of change in their communities, countries, and regions. Scholars attend a series of workshops, courses, and fieldwork in addition to the courses for their degrees.

 ​

​Eligibility and Admission Criteria

​​​On-campus Graduate (Master's) scholarships are open to:


  1. Citizens of countries on the African Continent
  2. Citizens of Lebanon
  3. Refugees living in Lebanon or on the African Continent

​​​PhD scholarships are open to:

 
  1. Citizens of countries on the African Continent
  2. Refugees living ​on the African Continent​


Selection and admission are based on the following: 


  • Academic promise
  • Talent that exceeds​ financial resources
  • Leadership potential
  • Commitment to giving back to the community
  • Demonstration of Readiness for University Studies in English (RUSE) by May 5, 2023
